Investigation to Dahe experimental station of HAAFS

On May 10th, President Zhang Tielong, Vice-president Zhang Jianjun, Sun Shigang and Zhang Qiang, gathered with directors from all divisions of HAAFS, made an investigation to Dahe experimental station to check about the related experimental progress. Two institutes were mainly involved.

Director Yue Zengliang and other experts from Institute of Agricultural Resources and Environment introduced research update, output and next work plan in the fields of nutrient management, nitrogen and phosphorus pollution from non-point source, heavy metal pollution remediation, evaluation and application of new fertilizer, optimal planting system of pasture and green manure. President Zhang Tielong fully affirmed the research and considered that location tests in agricultural resources research are extremely important. He encouraged young scientific researchers to have the will to work for a long time. Deep analysis of data resources, talent introduction and natural science foundation project’s application are effective ways to help research on resources and environment changes and mechanism. The institute will strengthen the basic applied research to provide more theoretical basis and scientific supports for applied technical research.


Experts from Institute of Vegetables and Medicinal Herbs introduced research update, output and next work plan in the fields of germplasm resources innovation and new variety breeding and selection on Chinese cabbage, watermelon, muskmelon, tomato and other crops. President Zhang Tielong emphasized that vegetables’ germplasm resource is vital in breeding. He encouraged experts to work on excavation, utilization and preservation of vegetable germplasm resource. Meanwhile, the president gave guidance on enhancing new varieties and techniques demonstration.
