On the invitation of HAAFS President Zhang Tielong, Prof. Fukuda Masaki, deputy head of Faculty of Agriculture, Shinshu University of Japan, and his colleague Associate Professor Hamauzu Yasunori came to HAAFS for academic exchange from November 4 to November 6. President Zhang Tielong and Vice President Sun Shigang met with the two experts at HAAFS headquarter in Shijiazhuang.
During the meeting, Zhang Tielong thanked Prof. Fukuda Masaki for the pragmatic exchange in many aspects between the faculty of agriculture of Shinshu University and HAAFS and expressed his expectation for extending the cooperation to more areas. Prof. Fukuda Masaki first conveyed the greetings from Fujita Tomoyuki, head of Faculty of Agriculture, after that, he said he is happy with the achievements since the signing of the cooperation agreement between the two sides in 2018 and hopes the two sides will continue to promote the future cooperation.
On the morning of Nov. 5, the two experts gave presentations respectively at the College of Life Science of Hebei Normal University and Institute of Genetics and Physiology of HAAFS on molecular breeding of edible mushrooms and extraction of functional components from fruits and vegetables. More than 60 research personnel listened to the presentations.
The two Japanese experts also visited a company for mushroom production in Linxi County of Xingtai City, Hebei Province and a biotechnology company in Quzhou County of Handan City of Hebei. Meanwhile, they paid a visit to Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Science.
