Persimmon is an important fruit in North China. Hebei Province is rich in persimmon resources, with an annual planting area of over 50,000 ha, accounting for 25% of that of the whole country. It is the pillar industry of Hebei Province, especially in mountainous areas. In recent years, due to the changes of consumers' consumption habits, there have been difficulties in market selling, resulting in a huge waste of resources. However, persimmon belongs to medicinal and edible homologous plants, having great commercial and processing value. Persimmon leaves and stems are rich in ursolic acid and oleanolic acid, which play a significant role in anti-tumor, anti-oxidation, antibacterial and anti-virus, liver protection, hypoglycemic and lipid-lowering. Persimmon fruit and leaf are rich in nutrition. Persimmon juice and persimmon leaf milk tea can be developed. Therefore it is urgent to extract these functional components by modern and efficient extraction technology.
The Institute of Agricultural Information and Economy of Hebei Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences has been engaged in the research on the medicinal function of agricultural products for a long time. Now it is undertaking the provincial key RD program of "Research on the extraction of main functional components of medicinal and edible homologous plants and the innovation technology of functional products", "health care efficacy evaluation and RD of characteristic agricultural products", and has accumulated rich experience.
We are looking forwards to cooperating with foreign research institutions and scientists to develop persimmon deep-processing products, so as to support the persimmon industry and improve the public health.
