On December 18, the 14th high quality edible millet evaluation was held in the Institute of Millet of HAAFS, more than 30 people attended the meeting, including chief scientist of national millet industry technology system and deputy secretary general of the Chinese Crop Society and other experts.
At the meeting, high quality millet varieties and characteristics were discussed, key issues such as new variety breeding and high quality millet standard were come up with. Experts expressed that the theme of “high-quality millet” could be proposed in Acta Agronomic Sincia.
67 millet varieties (39 of spring varieties and 28 of summer varieties) were provided by national scientific research institutes and seed industry companies to participate in the evaluation. Through the expert group on the spot scoring and statistics, the product quality and taste quality of millet were evaluated and scored. “Jizamiao No.3”, “Jizamiao No.4” and “Jigu 46”, which were raised by HAAFS, were awarded the first grade of high quality, and “Jizagu 10” was awarded the second grade.
